Speed Cleaning Tips for the Busy Momma

I know that, like most moms, we just sometimes don’t have the time to do a thorough cleaning, but we do our best, this is where my favorite saying comes in, ‘A messy house is a lived in house’. But, if you’re like me, you just can’t stand clutter – with my kids, at a rather early age I taught them that once you’re done with something put it back in its place. My two oldest seemed to fight this concept, but thankfully my youngest was cleaning her own room by the time she was three. [YAY!]

When you’re raising a family and holding down a job, whether it’s outside the home or your own venture it can sometimes be really difficult to find time for anything else. Things such as ‘me time’ and socializing have literally taken a back seat to everything else just so that you can juggle your life. Even cleaning can sometimes take a backseat, and if you’re anything like me, then that just won’t do.

Thankfully, there are a number of cleaning tips that have helped me overcome such an issue, from cleaning products to equipment. With a little organization skilss and some handy tips you can make far lighter work of cleaning your home while still juggling your life.

Some handy tips to help you.

Do it regularly: If you save the cleaning until the weekend rolls around, you’re going to find out that you spend most of the weekend just focusing on cleaning rather than spending time with your loved ones and this upsets the life work balance. Just by doing a little bit each and everyday you avoid an accumilation of a mess. Think about all the time you are going to save?

Try to make it more enjoyable. I know, hard to believe that it’s even possible right? Very few people find the thought of cleaning fun, but if you can find ways to change that then the better off you are, trying throwing on some music, it will help the time pass by more quickly.

Get the kids involved. This is a great way to help your kids develop good habits early on is rather important. In addition, the kids will enjoy helping out and can do small tasks such as dusting, picking up their rooms or taking out the trash.

Use an extension. I know this my sound small, but using an extension with your vacuum cleaner will help when it comes to moving about the house and reaching those tough places like the corners of the ceiling. Alternatively, you could invest in a cordless vacuum to help save some time.

Another handy tip that I have come across is to use disinfectant wipes in the bathroom. This has saved me extra time when cleaning. I now don’t have to worry about spraying everything down and using washcloths that I would end up having to wash. Wipe and go.

I hope that you find these tips and tricks to help you with your everyday life.
