The 30 Minute Beanie

I have to say, that I really do love this pattern, it’s quick and quite versatile. In this, I used 1 strand of medium weight yarn from Red Heart. You could do 2 strands of either the same or different colors.

As you can see, the yarn that I chose was rather colorful for my prototype of this pattern, I also continued with the same yarn to create the picot edging.

I’m not really to big on pom poms, but you can always add one to your project if you prefer them.

MATERIALS:

Medium or Worsted Weight Yarn [ your choice of color(s)]
Crochet Hook [I used size J, 6.00]

FINISHED BEANIE DIMENSIONS:

It’s around 11″ across the brim when folded, 8″ from the crown to the brim.

The ch-2 at the beginning of each row does not count as a dc.

PATTERN:

Row 1: Make a Magic Circle. Ch-2, dc 8 times in the circle and join with a sl st to the top of the first dc [8]

Row 2: Ch-2, 2dc in each st and join with a sl st to the top of the first dc [16]

Row 3: Ch-2 *dc in the first st, 2dc in the next* repeat around and join with a sl st in the top of the first dc. [24]

Row 4: Ch-2, *d c in first 2 sts, 2dc in next* repeat around. Join with sl st to top of first dc. [32]

Row 5: Ch-2, *dc in first 3 sts, 2dc in next* repeat around. Join with sl st to top of first dc. [40]

Row 6: Ch-2, *dc in first 4 sts, 2dc in next* repeat around. Join with sl st to top of first dc. [48]

Row 7-13: Ch-2, dc around. Join with sl st to top of first dc. [48]

***if you’d like extra length, continue adding rows until desired height is reached***

The final row: Ch-3, sc in the same stitch. *Sc in the next 3 stitches, ch-3, sc in the same stitch* Repeat until you are back at the beginning & fasten off.
